Will Warren’s second Major League start was a rough one Monday night at Camden Yards, and the Yankees find themselves trailing the Orioles 4-3 as of this publishing.
The 24-year-old right-hander pitched just 3.1 innings, giving up six hits, four earned runs, two walks, and a home run while striking out five. Warren threw 72 pitches — 47 for strikes — and saw his ERA rise to 5.63.
Will Warren battled through traffic early but couldn’t keep Baltimore’s lineup in check. Despite showing flashes of swing-and-miss stuff, he struggled with command and allowed hard contact, putting the Yankees in an early hole they are still trying to climb out of.
Fans voice frustrations

Fan reaction on social media was swift and unforgiving. Some questioned whether Will Warren is ready for Major League action. “Will Warren is no major league pitcher,” one fan wrote on X. Another added, “Yankees really got nobody better than Will Warren in their system? Nobody?”
Adding to the frustration, the Yankees missed a prime scoring opportunity in the first inning when Anthony Volpe grounded out with the bases loaded. Outside of Aaron Judge — who raised his batting average to .411 with another hit — the lineup continued to struggle in key moments.
“The Yankees don’t have a clutch bat on the roster,” one frustrated fan posted. “We’re sick of seeing Volpe and Wells look like little leaguers with men on third.”
Not all the reaction was negative. A few pointed out that Will Warren’s future might still be in the bullpen, where his stuff could play up in shorter outings. “Will Warren is going to be an outstanding reliever,” one fan predicted.
For now, the Yankees are looking to rally against a tough Baltimore team. But Will Warren’s short outing, combined with missed chances at the plate, have put New York in a difficult position as they try to avoid dropping the series opener.
