Much like baseball fans, former manager Joe Girardi is enthusiastic about the New York Yankees’ acquisition of Juan Soto. He believes that obtaining the outfielder from the Padres is a significant move for his former team, which has fallen behind in recent years.
The deal, officially sealed on Wednesday, involved sending multiple New York players to San Diego. Girardi reassured Yankees fans on Friday that they should harbor no concerns about their new star moving forward.
The reason, according to the former New York manager, is straightforward — “He’s just really good.”
While Juan Soto has predominantly played in smaller markets throughout his career, representing Washington for 4.5 seasons before spending 1.5 years in Southern California, Girardi expressed confidence that the bright lights of New York will not hinder the slugger’s performance.
“I think he’ll fit great,” Girardi said.

A Yankees enthusiast who evidently welcomes the addition is “NYPD Blue” star Nick Turturro. In a statement to TMZ Sports, he expressed being “very happy” and “overjoyed” with the signing.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the recent direction of the Yankees, mentioning that the lineup had been underwhelming. However, he noted the addition of a genuine left-handed threat, considering it a significant improvement. Furthermore, he labeled the player as a legitimate star.
Yankees pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to spring training in a few months, and Juan Soto will be joining them just a few days later. Yankees fans, get ready for an exciting season!
