Former Yankees player Alex Rodriguez has met with the disapproval of his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis for sending a lot of text messages to daughter Natasha, who recently joined the University of Michigan.

Alex Rodriguez, 48, explained that it has been a challenging adjustment for him. According to him, for the first time in 18 years, he doesn’t have his two daughters with him during dinner and he feels quite unusual to live without his daughter. At the same time, he finds a positive aspect to the situation – he gets to spend more time with his 15-year-old daughter, Ella. Alex Rodriguez added that there seems to be a silver lining everywhere.

This statement was made during an interview with US Weekly earlier this month while Alex Rodriguez was promoting his partnership with OraPharma.

Scurtis and Alex Rodriguez are co-parents

Alex Rodriguez and Scurtis, who is 50 years old, separated in 2008 after being married for six years. Despite their divorce, they have become experts at working together as parents. The former MLB player mentioned that he feels “proud” of how well he and Scurtis are co-parenting their children now.

He acknowledged that breakups are always tough and co-parenting can be a difficult task. Alex Rodriguez praised Scurtis for doing an incredible job as a mother. According to him, his partnership with Scurtis and the way they are raising their two daughters are the things he is most proud of.

Alex Rodriguez made a light-hearted comment, saying he’s been feeling a bit down since Natasha started her college journey at the University of Michigan. However, he quickly added that she’s been having a wonderful time at school, and things are going great for her.

Early last month, he and his girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro, took Natasha to college. Alex Rodriguez mentioned that he’s glad to have more time with his younger daughter, Ella, but it’s also a bit sad for Ella to be apart from her sister.

Alex Rodriguez shared that Ella has mixed emotions about Natasha leaving for college. He mentioned that there’s a part of Ella that misses her older sister, but he’s also observed how she has matured beautifully. Ella is excited about college, even though it’s three years away, and she seems to be enjoying a prominent role in the household with his girlfriend, Jac, and her mom, Cynthia.

The ex-New York Yankee remarked that witnessing Natasha go off to college has prompted Ella to focus on and improve certain aspects of her life. He pointed out that Ella has matured significantly between her freshman and sophomore years of high school. Alex Rodriguez further stated that Ella saw how important the move was for Natasha; hence, he is persuaded that she’s ready for her chance.

Focus on dental health

Aside from his parenting duties, Alex Rodriguez is prioritizing his dental health. He has partnered with OraPharma to raise awareness about and combat gum disease, a chronic and often misunderstood condition that is frequently underdiagnosed.

Alex Rodriguez’s collaboration with the brand began following one of his own visits to the dentist and his own diagnosis. He mentioned that he visits the dentist a couple of times a year, and during one of these visits, his dentist informed him about the issue. He shared that upon hearing about it, he experienced fear and nervousness.

Alex Rodriguez went on to explain that as he delved deeper into the topic, he learned that early detection and discussions with a local dentist can help prevent many significant problems. He also noted that certain studies have indicated that this disease can elevate the risk of diabetes and heart disease. He emphasized the importance of oral health and highlighted its connection to overall body health.

The ex-Yankees player advised that individuals should pay attention to signs like “bleeding gums” and “swollen gums when they brush their teeth.” But he clarified that he did not experience either of these symptoms himself.

Alex Rodriguez noted that after discussing it with the dentist, he realized that it was a manageable condition that could be improved. He also mentioned that for him, managing it involves regular dental check-ups, brushing, and flossing.
