The New York Yankees’ 2025 MLB regular season schedule has been released, and it brings an exciting change to the much-anticipated Subway Series against the New York Mets.

What lies ahead of Yankees in 2025?

Yankees 2025 schedule

The most notable adjustment for 2025 is the expansion of the Subway Series to six games, up from the traditional four. This marks the first time since 2021 that the Yankees and Mets will face off six times in a single season. From 2022 to 2024, the series consisted of two games at Citi Field and two at Yankee Stadium.

Adding to the excitement, the second three-game series will begin on July 4 at Citi Field, promising to make Independence Day in New York City even more thrilling. The first series will take place at Yankee Stadium from May 16-18, with the second set from July 4-6 at Citi Field.

In recent years, the Subway Series has been fiercely competitive. Since 2017, the teams have split the series each season, except for 2021 when the Mets took four of six games. Yankees fans still remember last month’s losses at Citi Field, where the Mets triumphed 9-7 and 12-2. The outcome of the 2024 Subway Series remains to be seen, with the second leg scheduled for July 23-24 at Yankee Stadium.

The 2025 schedule also features other significant matchups for the Yankees. They will open the season at home against the Milwaukee Brewers on March 27. The first clash with their longtime rivals, the Boston Red Sox, will be a three-game series at Yankee Stadium from June 6-8. The Yankees will then travel to Fenway Park for two road series against the Red Sox from June 13-15 and September 12-14. The Red Sox will return to the Bronx for a final series from August 21-24.

Additionally, the Yankees will face the Baltimore Orioles in seven of their last ten games of the 2025 regular season, potentially making for a dramatic finish to the year.

While looking ahead to the 2025 season is exciting, the Yankees still have unfinished business in 2024. The team is focused on closing out the current season strong, with eyes set on making a deep playoff run.

For Yankees fans eager to plan their 2025 baseball experience, here are some key dates:
