The day began with worries about a potential postponement of the game between the New York Yankees and the Mariners. However, Max Goodman reported that there was no sign of a delay. Initially scheduled for 12:15 PM EST, the first pitch will now be at 12:35 PM. What initially appeared to be a threat in the morning turned out to be a false alarm.

The Yankees broke a potential three-game losing streak with a 7-3 win over the Mariners on Wednesday night, thanks to Juan Soto‘s two home runs—his second multi-homer game in five matches. Fellow outfielders Aaron Judge and Alex Verdugo also homered in the game.

If the Yankees win this afternoon, they’ll split the four-game series with Seattle and maintain their division lead over the Orioles in the American League. However, weather could still play a role in today’s game at Yankee Stadium.

With the first pitch approaching, fans can expect to stay dry despite earlier thunderstorms. According to weather.com, there’s a 16 percent or less chance of showers until 3 p.m. The temperature will be comfortable, ranging from the low-to-mid 70s.

While there’s a small chance of thunderstorms, it seems unlikely that weather will be a significant factor today.

The series finale features a pitching matchup between the Yankees’ Luis Gil, coming off a record-breaking start, and Mariners’ ace Luis Castillo, making his sixth career start against the Yankees.
