As the Yankees and Red Sox clash in a crucial late-season series, Metro-North is adding extra train service to accommodate fans heading to Yankee Stadium this weekend.
Metro-North adds extra trains for Yankees-Red Sox series in New York
The four-game series began on Thursday, and games are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Friday, 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:35 p.m. on Sunday.
For Friday’s game, an additional “Yankee Clipper” train will depart from New Haven at 4:47 p.m., making stops at key stations before arriving at Yankees-E. 153rd St. Station at 6:45 p.m. After the game, another train will be available to take fans back to New Haven.
For the Saturday and Sunday afternoon games, extra Yankee Clipper trains will leave New Haven at 9:23 a.m., arriving at Yankees-E. 153rd St. Station by 11:24 a.m., with return trips running after each game. These services will operate alongside the regular Yankee Clipper trains from the New Haven, Hudson, and Harlem Lines, providing fans with several transportation options. Shuttle trains will also run between Grand Central Terminal, Harlem-125th St., and Yankees-E. 153rd St., connecting with regularly scheduled trains.
How to watch Yankees vs. Red Sox on Friday night
If you’re not heading to the stadium, you can still catch the action live on Apple TV+. The Friday night matchup, scheduled for 7:05 p.m., will be streamed as part of Apple’s exclusive Friday Night Baseball package. Fans can sign up for a seven-day free trial to watch the game without a subscription.
For radio listeners, the game will also be broadcast live on SiriusXM channel 179.
Boston enters the series trailing the Twins by four games in the American League wild card race, while the Yankees are fighting to maintain their lead in the AL East. With both teams vying for playoff spots, this weekend’s games carry significant postseason implications.
