In a swift and surprising turn of events, New York Yankees star Giancarlo Stanton has ended his relationship with Asiana Jayd “AJ” Hung-Barnes just days after their romance was made public.
What happened
According to Page Six, the 34-year-old Yankees outfielder broke up with the 27-year-old hospitality worker mere days after news of their relationship surfaced in May. The couple had reportedly been dating since 2022, keeping a low profile until the recent revelation.
The article suggests Giancarlo Stanton’s decision to end the relationship was abrupt. He blocked Hung-Barnes on social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat. Since then, he has been seen dating other women, although none of these new relationships are reported to be serious.
In response, Hung-Barnes removed all traces of Giancarlo Stanton from her private Instagram account and unfollowed both the Yankees’ official page and Stanton’s friends. She also deleted her profiles on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn shortly after their relationship became public.
Despite several requests for comment, representatives for the Yankees have remained silent, and Hung-Barnes has been unreachable.
During their relationship, Hung-Barnes frequently stayed at Stanton’s Midtown East apartment and in luxurious hotel suites he discreetly booked for her during the MLB season. She also joined Stanton in Tampa, Florida, for the Yankees’ spring training earlier this year.
While Giancarlo Stanton is known for his preference to keep his personal life private, Hung-Barnes was more open about their relationship on social media. She often shared glimpses of their life together, including photos and videos from Stanton’s homes and Yankee Stadium. In one TikTok post, she displayed a handwritten note saying, “Aj ♥’s G,” captioned, “That I do.”
This social media activity did not sit well with Stanton, who prefers to keep his personal life out of the public eye. Page Six also noted that Hung-Barnes’s tendency to share personal details online was a point of contention.
In several now-deleted videos, Hung-Barnes referred to her relationship with Giancarlo Stanton using terms like “sneaky link” and “situationship,” slang for a low-key lover and a non-committal relationship, respectively. Sources revealed that the couple communicated daily on Snapchat whenever they were apart, with Stanton eagerly checking her messages after his games.
Giancarlo Stanton, a five-time All-Star, has previously been linked to actress Priscilla Quintana and models Chase Carter and Mariana Santana.
As the Yankees continue their season, Giancalo Stanton remains focused on his performance on the field. The end of his relationship with Hung-Barnes marks another chapter in the athlete’s personal life, which, despite his efforts to keep private, often finds its way into the public eye.

This romance is of no importance. Let them live their own life. Now let’s get real, this team needs to get it together. In beginning when they were winning, all was fun to play, they were smiling and joking. Now it looks like they are at funeral every game. I made the statement before, Soto would stay in NY because it is a winning town, great reputation, and the bleacher creatures. They all love him; they show their love and appreciation for how good he is and that he will help them win a title. Not now, why would he want to stay in NY the way the team is playing. Yes, injuries are an issue, every team has them, but lack of hustle and not playing fundamental baseball will do you in every time.
