Harrison Bader is doing everything possible to become ready for the next season and is excited about it. The player who the Yankees acquired at the trade deadline is likely to be very important in 2023. Bader is thought to be one of the best defensive outfielders in the league. This is an area of the field where the Yankees had trouble last year.

Harrison Bader’s new home is Yankee Stadium. But the center fielder has lived in the Bronx before just next to the Yankees’ turf. He went to Horace Mann School, which is only five minutes away from where he plays now. In a talk with NJ Advance Media, the 28-year-old said:

“The offseason is awesome. A lot of work came in. Got to spend time with my family and some friends. There is nothing wrong. Just getting ready for 2023 to be a championship year.”

Harrison Bader grew up in New York. He knows how important it is to play in the centerfield for one of the most famous teams in the league. The winner of the Gold Glove is brave and does well in the spotlight. If Bader doesn’t get hurt, this trade could turn out to be a good bet.

Harrison Bader is committed to improving the Yankees. He told:

“Just a new environment, meeting new faces, a couple of new teammates. I’m just excited for the freshness of everything that’s to come. I’m just excited to be myself and bring what I bring to a lineup, to a team, to that clubhouse. I know I can help this organization win and I’m just excited to see how it shakes out.”

Harrison Bader’s time in pinstripes has been limited by injuries. In fact, the 28-year-old only played 14 games for the Yankees during the regular season. He did help the Yankees go far in the playoffs, though, and fans were impressed by what they saw.

Bader told: “It kind of changes month to month. A lot of it was straight-up working out. Now it’s more intensely hitting and backing off the working out a bit. Just getting that balance of getting back into that swinging shape and that running shape. Just on the recovery side, dealing with different parts of the body now. It’s simple but it’s a routine. It’s trending more toward baseball activity now.”

The outfielder is looking forward to a big year after being out for a long time.

“I feel like I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel. A lot of it is sharpening up your pitch selection. Baseball is tough because it’s more about what you don’t swing at and maybe waiting out an at-bat or taking that borderline pitch and not putting it in play, whatever it may be. Just continue to sharpen that pitch selection. From the physical standpoint, the bat speed and the hand speed — I’m in a great spot.”

Harrison Bader trade is no more questioned

Just before the trade deadline, the Yankees got Harrison Bader from St. Louis in exchange for left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery. Many fans were confused by the move. Fans of the Yankees didn’t really start to appreciate his skills until the playoffs.

Harrison Bader was a key part of the offense that was having trouble in the playoffs, and he made some big hits when things were tough. Over the course of nine playoff games, he hit .333/.429/.833 and had a huge OPS of 1.262. Aaron Judge had a short slump, but he still led the Yankees in home runs, hits, and runs (8).

Harrison Bader is glad that Carlos Rodon and other players have joined the team.

“Any time you add a guy who’s got such good stuff like that with that mentality, you always want to welcome winning players. I think the front office did an amazing job of collecting more winning players and more winning talent. I’m just excited to play behind him.”
