Notably, he managed the team from 2008 to 2017, a period highlighted by their triumphant 2009 World Series title. Additionally, he adorned the pinstripes as a player from 1996 to 1999, clinching three World Series championships during his tenure.

Following his tenure as Yankees manager, Girardi assumed a similar role with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2020. However, his journey with the Phillies concluded with his dismissal in June of 2022, preceding the team’s appearance in the World Series.

Girardi’s return to the YES Network reunites him with former teammates David Cone, Jeff Nelson, and Paul O’Neill, enriching the network’s lineup with his expertise and insights.

A familiar face returns to the YES Network as Joe Girardi, the former player and manager of the New York Yankees, joins the analyst team for the 2024 season. Girardi, whose association with the Yankees spans several decades, brings a wealth of experience and a winning mindset to the network.

During his tenure with the Yankees, Girardi not only managed the team but also played a pivotal role in securing the 2009 World Series title, the franchise’s last championship victory. His contributions as both a player and a manager have left an indelible mark on the organization.

Before his return to the YES Network, Girardi had stints with other teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies, where he served as manager until 2022. However, his ties to the Yankees remain strong, making his homecoming to the network a highly anticipated event for fans and colleagues alike.

With Girardi’s addition to the YES Network team, viewers can expect insightful analysis and firsthand perspectives on the Yankees’ performance throughout the upcoming season. As he joins forces with former teammates and fellow analysts, Girardi’s presence promises to enrich the network’s coverage and provide fans with a deeper understanding of the game.
