Los Yankees y los Twins jugaron un partido de béisbol, que transcurrió más o menos como cabría esperar.

No tenía muchas esperanzas en las posibilidades de los Twins en este partido y, por supuesto, no soy el único. Aaron Judge confirmó rápidamente ese sentimiento al batear una ráfaga de 2 carreras en la primera entrada, 7 lanzamientos en el juego. Dos bateadores más tarde, Giancarlo Stanton conectó un jonrón solitario al centro del campo izquierdo para el 3-0.

Los Twins devolvieron el golpe y anotó Byron Buxton en un fly de sacrificio impulsado por Max Kepler en la parte baja de la 1ª. En el minuto 3, Luiz Arraez marcó gracias a un doblete de Jorge Polanco.

Sin embargo, los Yankees no cejaron en su empeño cuando Judge bateó un sencillo RBI en el cuarto. Jermaine Palacios alcanzó esa carrera con un fly de sacrificio RBI y anotó en Gio Urshela.
En el 5º puesto, Juan Minaya sustituyó a Cole Sands, pero finalmente se marchó y corrió hacia el interior. Yennier Cano entró y golpeó a Judge para poner fin a la amenaza.

Una vez más, los Twins respondieron con una carrera propia, esta vez con el séptimo jonrón de Jorge Polanco que dio al partido una ventaja de 5-4.

Tyler Duffey entró en la séptima y rápidamente sacó 2 outs antes de que D.J. LaMahieu consiguiera un sencillo. El juez fue entonces golpeado a pie a propósito, pero Anthony Rizzo bateó una bomba de 3 carreras por el centro derecho, esencialmente terminando el juego.
Rocco Baldelli fue expulsado en el 7º tras una disputa con el árbitro. Una pelota que claramente no golpeó la raqueta de Kepler se consideró falta, los árbitros formaron un grupo y decidieron que la decisión se mantendría, por lo que la expulsión.

Los Yankees anotaron algunas carreras más en la octava entrada, pero no lo necesitaban, ni siquiera estaban seguros de por qué se molestaban.

Los sluggers de los Twins no pudieron hacer nada después de la quinta entrada, dejándonos 10-4.
