After a convincing 6-1 win on Monday, the Minnesota Twins will take on the New York Yankees in Game 2 on Tuesday. The Yankees, who are struggling against the Twins, is looking to level the series with a win. Both the team and its fans look to Nestor Cortes to live up to his “Nasty Nestor” legend and help the Bombers make a comeback.

When: Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Time: 7:40 p.m. EDT.

Where: Target Field, Minneapolis.

TV: NBC Sports Bay Area, YES Network.

Stream: MLB.tv, DirecTv

Moneyline: Twins -126, Yankees +106; over/under is 7 runs

Pitching matchup: Nestor Cortes will start for the Yankees while the Twins have Joe Ryan as their starter.

Overall, New York has a record of 13-10, while on the road they have a record of 4-3. With a collective slugging percentage of .391, the Yankees are currently placed seventh in the American League.

Minnesota has a record of 13-10 overall and a home record of 6-4. With a collective ERA of 3.26, the Twins are currently in third place among MLB teams.

On Tuesday, the teams will compete against one another for the sixth time this year. The Twins now have a 3-2 advantage in the season series. Yankees have a record of 5-5 in their previous 10 games, with a batting average of .204, an earned run average of 2.90, and a loss of three runs in total.

Cortes will make his fifth start of the season for the Yankees. He is 3-0, has a 3.09 ERA, and has struck out 22 batters in 23 1/3 innings. On Thursday, the left-hander’s last game was against the Los Angeles Angels. He pitched six innings and gave up three earned runs and four hits. Cortes will try to add to his streak of five straight games where he pitched at least five innings (he averages 5.8 innings per start). When Cortes starts this season, the Yankees have always been opponents in terms of money. In Cortes’s four starts, his team is 3-1. This season, bettors have set a total for four of Cortes’ starts. Three of those games went over the total.
