Following Yankees ace Gerrit Cole’s unanimous victory in the American League Cy Young Award, Amy shared on Instagram to acknowledge the “hidden stats” that contributed to the success of the 33-year-old ace.
“There are the stats everyone sees: the wins, the strikeouts, the (lack of) earned runs. But I can’t help thinking about the hidden stats that actually fueled this award,” Amy began on Thursday.
“The growth. The tireless discipline. The way you meticulously fine-tune your craft. The way you respond to setbacks. Your integrity, humility, gratitude, and the way you celebrate your teammates, all while making sure your family feels loved and supported… those are the real wins.”
Amy, who shares two young sons, Caden and Everett, with Cole, then gushed, “Love being on your team, G. Thanks for giving us yet another reason to celebrate you! Our (unanimous!) CY Young.”
Gerrit Cole marked the victory on Wednesday alongside Amy, shortly after the couple commemorated seven years of marriage.

During an interview with Pedro Martinez on MLB Network, Gerrit Cole was questioned about the person he would prefer to celebrate the achievement with the most.
After a prolonged moment, the ace pitcher, wearing a smile, expressed that it would likely be challenging to not mention Amy right beside him in that scenario.
Gerrit Cole conveyed that she had been by his side since his school days, offering unwavering support throughout various phases and ventures in their lives together. He expressed a desire for her to be the one sitting beside him when he received the honor, emphasizing her significance at that moment.
