Aaron Judge wasted no time this Saturday, launching his 11th home run of the season in the first inning against the Tampa Bay Rays. The solo shot was Judge’s first homer of May and a loud reminder that his historic April wasn’t a fluke.
The Yankees captain entered the game fresh off being named the American League Player of the Month for March and April — and he picked up right where he left off. After 33 games, Judge is now slashing .431/.513/.805 with 11 homers, 33 RBIs, 3 stolen bases, and a 1.318 OPS across 123 at-bats. His 273 wRC+ remains the highest in the majors.
Unanimous AL Player of the month honors for March/April

Aaron Judge’s 10th home run — hit during the final week of April — capped off one of the best starts of his career. Across March and April, he led MLB in batting average (.427), on-base percentage (.521), slugging (.761), OPS (1.282), hits (50), RBIs (32), and total bases (89). He reached base in 27 straight games and rode into May with an 11-game hitting streak still intact.
The award marked Judge’s 10th career Player of the Month nod, tying Alex Rodriguez for second-most all-time, behind only Barry Bonds (13).
Aaron Judge became the second player in MLB history to record 50 hits in the opening month of a season, a feat last accomplished by Dante Bichette in 1998. He also joined an elite Yankees group — Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, and Babe Ruth — as the only players in franchise history with 50 hits and 10 homers in a single calendar month.
His past two months included a monstrous three-homer, eight-RBI game on March 29 against Milwaukee — the third such game of his career. And it seems may will also hunt him with good numbers
