Advantage New York in Yankees vs. Giants Game 1
On Opening Day of the 2022 MLB season, the Yankees vs. Giants game at Yankee Stadium will start at 1:05 p.m. ET, Thursday.
The Yankees are favored to start the 2023 season over the Giants. The Yankees are in excellent shape to successfully defend their title as champions of the American League East. However, considering the history of the Yankees vs. Giants series, the first game of the season won’t be without its share of challenges.
Aaron Boone, the manager of the team, has to deal with significant absences in the starting rotation despite the fact that the team has a formidable lineup. Luis Severino is not expected to return until the middle of April, and it won’t be until early May before newcomer Carlos Rodon makes his appearance again.
The Yankees are ready to send out their ace Gerrit Cole while the Giants will have Logan Webb in the first game of the Yankees vs. Giants series.
