On Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 1:05 p.m., the New York Yankees will start their 121st MLB season schedule against the San Francisco Giants at Yankee Stadium. Baseball fans with tickets can get the entry through all gates at Yankee Stadium starting from 11 a.m.

On Opening Day, everyone who comes to watch the Yankees v. Giants game will get a commemorative ticket as a souvenir for witnessing the 2023 MLB’s big day.

At about 12:30 p.m., both teams will be introduced on the baselines to start the pregame ceremonies. Mariano Rivera, who is the Yankees’ legendary closer and is in the Baseball Hall of Fame, will throw out the inaugural pitch.

The Yankees are happy to work with CLEAR to make it faster and easier for ticketed fans to get into Yankee Stadium. The CLEAR app is free and you don’t have to pay anything for it. Fans can download, sign up, and enter through the Babe Ruth Plaza and Suite Entrance lanes marked for CLEAR (for Guests with access).

Before the national anthem, Yankees season ticket holders will spread out a huge American flag on the field at Yankee Stadium. The national anthem will be sung by singer and actress Adrianna Hicks, who plays “Sugar Kane” in the Broadway show Some Like It Hot. The U.S. Army West Point Cadet Honor Guard will do the presentation of the colors.

DJay Jung will also perform at Yankee Stadium before the game and during the breaks between innings. Miguel Cervantes from the Broadway show Hamilton will sing “God Bless America” during the break between the seventh and eighth innings.

For the first time in Yankees history, they will play the Giants on Opening Day. The Yankees v. Giants rivalry resumes after three years. It will only be the second time that the Yankees’ first game of the season will be against a National League team. The first time was on July 23, 2020, at Washington, when rain cut the game short and the Yankees won 4-1.

The Yankees are 67-52-1 on Opening Day and 37-18-1 when the first game of the season is at home in Yankee Stadium. The Yankees have a record of 80-39-1 in home openers going into their game on Thursday.
