The New York Yankees need to put up more reasons to cheer for their fans, especially with the recent losses to the Mets and the Boston Red Sox. The team has become overly reliant on Aaron Judge, who has been injured since the beginning of the month. However, the group continues to attract the attention of major companies like ESPN and is among the eight most talked-about clubs.
Poor performance by the Yankees in June
The Yankees are having one of the worst months in their history, with ten losses so far, and there are still ten days left until July! The soaring team in May found itself without its star player and faced injuries to other players, such as Aaron Judge.
Since Aaron Judge disembarked on the injured list due to a sprained right big toe, the New York Yankees have blundered, compiling a record of 4 wins and eight losses. Throughout this 12-game period, the team achieved only 39 runs. Further, Giancarlo Stanton, DJ LeMahieu, and Anthony Rizzo have had a challenging moment at the plate, collectively going 12-for-109, with a .110 batting average during this period.
This situation highlights the need for more planning by the Yankees to stay on top. However, it has been rumored in the media that an MLB star may be on the radar of the biggest baseball franchise. Is it really essential?
The Yankees need a better average to think about a championship or, at the very least, improve their performances. The club currently has 39 wins and 33 defeats, with a winning percentage of .542.
Who are among the top eight teams?
The Rays are above the Yankees, leading the best team in MLB. However, the team started the week with two losses in Oakland but bounced back to win three in a row before losing the final two games of their series in San Diego. The Braves, Rangers, Astros, Orioles, D-Backs, and Dodgers follow them.
With the return of some players like Harrison Bader, the Yankees might improve their results. However, the team must show their worth this Tuesday, June 19, against the Mariners.
So, Pinstripes Nation, what do you think of this list? Does the team have a chance to recover from their recent poor performance?
