Derek Jeter, shortstop for the New York Yankees and a five-time World Series winner, once lived in a castle befitting his status as king of New York.
In 2003, Jeter paid $425,000 to buy a 4.01-acre plot in Greenwood Lake, New York. Which he then developed into a fortress. Since the MLB king has moved to Florida and no longer has any use for the magnificent estate, he has listed it with Diane Mitchell of Wright Bros. Real Estate Inc.
The castle first emerged on the market in June of 2018 with a hefty $14.8 million price tag. It is located around 45 miles northwest of Yankee Stadium. Despite being labeled the “Gem on the Lake” in the official listing, Derek Jeter’s lakeside home failed to sell and was put up for auction with a $6.5 million minimum bid.
