Nestor Cortes, the left-handed pitcher for the New York Yankees, is the perfect example how busy Americans can balance their personal and professional lives. While he toils hard to bounce back for the Yankees’ upcoming season, he makes sure to give time to his newlywed wife.
Alondra Russy and Nestor Cortes exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony held in Miami on November 25, 2023. The couple, known for their active presence on social media, offered followers a peek into their recent getaway to Puerto Rico.
With spring training just around the corner and players savoring their final leisure moments before the demanding 162-game season kicks off, Nestor Cortes and Alondra took advantage of the opportunity to attend a concert by Canadian rapper Drake in Nashville.
Alondra took to Instagram to share snapshots of their experience at the concert, giving their followers a glimpse of the memorable evening.
Nestor Cortes already ramping up at Yankees training camp
Spring training has kicked off at the Yankees’ camp, and Nestor Cortes has joined his teammates at the training complex in Tampa, Florida. According to Bryan Hoch, other notable Yankees recently seen at the complex include Carlos Rodon, Aaron Judge, Oswaldo Cabrera, Jasson Domínguez, DJ LeMahieu, Jonathan Loáisiga, Gleyber Torres, Anthony Volpe, and Austin Wells.
With spring training less than two weeks away, the Yankees, boasting a formidable roster, are aiming for a postseason berth in 2024. Nestor Cortes, who had a strong All-Star campaign in 2022, faced injury setbacks in the 2023 season, where he recorded a 5-2 record with a 4.97 ERA in 12 starts.
The Yankees are counting on him to regain his 2022 form and lead the rotation alongside Gerrit Cole, Marcus Stroman, Carlos Rodon, and Clarke Schmidt. The starter has already to the spring training facility in Tampa before it officially starts, and the team’s general manager, Brian Cashman, is optimistic about their early performances.
Nestor Cortes is set on recapturing the success he enjoyed in 2022 following a challenging 2023 season marked by hamstring and rotator cuff issues.
“Reports on him have been outstanding,” Cashman stated. “He’s putting in the effort, choosing to arrive in Tampa early to train with our team. The feedback we’ve received so far has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Cashman’s confidence in Cortes is based on the pitcher’s established talent. “We know what Nestor is capable of when he’s healthy. He was an All-Star and a significant contributor before last year’s injuries. We’re eager to have that player back in the rotation.”

This post really told me nothing. You guys can’t even put out a decent behind the scenes look at a player. Shameful.
