Los Yankees se llevaron dos de tres contra los Rays en el Trop.

Aaron Judge bateó sus jonrones 26 y 27 de la temporada, José Treviño conectó un jonrón de dos carreras en la octava entrada, y los Yankees vencieron a los Rays de Tampa Bay 5-4 el miércoles por la noche.

El 22º multijonrón de Judge ayudó a los Yankees a remontar una desventaja de 4-1 después de que Isaac Paredes, de los Rays, bateara su cuarto jonrón en dos partidos.

Clarke Schmidt (4-2) obtuvo la victoria, y Clay Holmes lanzó una novena entrada sin goles para su 12º salvamento en 13 oportunidades.

Los Yankees ganaron su 18º partido en 21 encuentros, manteniendo su ventaja de 12 partidos en la AL Este.

El sexto jonrón de Trevino dio la ventaja a los Yankees, pero fue una actuación defensiva del receptor en la cuarta entrada la que dio la vuelta al partido. Paredes, que jonroneó tres veces en la victoria de los Rays por 5-4 el martes, bateó su noveno jonrón de la temporada para iniciar la segunda entrada contra Montgomery. En la misma entrada, Vidal Brujan añadió un jonrón de dos carreras para poner a Tampa Bay 3-0 arriba.

El jonrón de Trevino fue obra del lanzador de los Rays Ralph Garza Jr. (0-2) después de que Isiah Kiner-Falefa comenzara la octava entrada con un paseo, uno de los 8 lanzamientos de los Rays en las últimas cinco entradas.

Por primera vez en sus 14 salidas esta temporada, Montgomery permitió más de tres carreras. En seis entradas, permitió cuatro carreras y nueve hits.
