Jasson Dominguez continues to impress in the minor leagues, with his latest standout performance coming last Saturday when he hit another home run. Although ‘El Marciano’ may not know his exact comeback timeline, but New York Yankees’ Senior Advisor to Baseball Operations, Omar Minaya, was on hand in Somerset last Friday to watch Dominguez and provided an update to the manager Aaron Boone.
“He’s in a really good frame of mind. He’s playing well, and we’re excited about his progress,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said before the Yankees’ win against the San Francisco Giants.
That same day, Jasson Dominguez hit his third home run in five games, playing both as a designated hitter and center fielder. Despite Dominguez’s strong performance, reports indicate that the Yankees’ initial plan was to keep him in the minors longer, especially with the team currently on a hot streak in MLB.

Following Saturday’s game, Jasson Dominguez has now homered in his last two games and three of his last four while playing for the Somerset Patriots, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The highly-touted Yankees prospect has been on a power surge, blasting four home runs in his last six games overall.

Erik Boland of Newsday reported that rival scouts have been impressed with Dominguez’s performance, noting his proficiency from both sides of the plate and his defensive capabilities. “Looks about ready,” one scout said. However, with no immediate path to playing time in the majors, Dominguez remains in the minors for now.
Despite not yet making his 2024 MLB debut, Dominguez is already becoming a star. His impressive play has caught the attention of fans and celebrities alike, including “The Sopranos” actor Steve Schirripa, who was spotted at the stadium taking a picture with Dominguez.
Jasson Dominguez underwent the procedure on September 20, 2023, and has not played an MLB game since. In his brief MLB debut late last season, Dominguez made a significant impact. He posted a .258/.303/.677 slash line with four home runs, seven RBIs, six runs, and a 0.2 WAR over eight games.
