Giancarlo Stanton delivered another key moment for the New York Yankees in Game 4 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Guardians.

His three-run home run in the sixth inning expanded the Yankees’ lead to 6-2, helping secure a 3-1 series advantage. This home run also marked a significant milestone in Stanton’s career, making him the second player in Yankees history—alongside Reggie Jackson—to hit four or more home runs in multiple postseasons.

Giancarlo Stanton’s latest blast came at a crucial point in the game. After Juan Soto drew a walk and Aaron Judge singled, Stanton stepped to the plate with two runners on base. Facing Cleveland’s pitching, Stanton connected with a high fastball and launched it into the left-field seats, giving the Yankees a comfortable lead and placing them in a strong position to close out the series.

Juan Soto, who was standing on third base when Stanton hit the home run, was visibly impressed by his teammate’s power. After Stanton’s blast sailed over the fence, Soto paused to admire the shot before beginning his trot around the bases. His reaction was captured by cameras and quickly spread across social media, with fans noting how even a star like Soto couldn’t help but marvel at Stanton’s power.

Giancarlo Stanton’s dominant postseason

Giancarlo Stanton has been one of the most dangerous hitters in the Yankees’ lineup throughout the 2024 postseason. His Game 4 home run was his fourth of the playoffs and his third in the ALCS against Cleveland. With this home run, Stanton now has 15 career postseason home runs in 35 games, a home run rate of 10.4%, significantly higher than his regular-season rate of 6.2%.

Giancarlo Stanton’s performance in the postseason has placed him among the Yankees’ all-time greats. In addition to joining Reggie Jackson as the only Yankees with four or more home runs in multiple postseasons, Stanton’s power has been critical in the Yankees’ push for another World Series title. His other dominant postseason run came in 2020, when he homered in five consecutive playoff games.

Giancarlo Stanton’s role in the Yankees’ postseason success has been pivotal. While opposing pitchers often focus on Juan Soto and Aaron Judge at the top of the lineup, Stanton has consistently delivered clutch hits in key situations. His ability to change the course of a game with one swing has made the Yankees’ offense even more formidable.

In the 2024 postseason, Stanton is hitting .310 with nine RBIs and a 1.205 OPS through eight games. He has struck out just three times, a significant improvement over his regular-season performance, where he was criticized for a high strikeout rate. His three home runs in the ALCS alone have been decisive, putting the Yankees in a strong position to close out the series against the Guardians.

As the Yankees move closer to a World Series berth, Stanton’s postseason legacy continues to grow. With each home run, Stanton climbs higher on the Yankees’ all-time postseason leaderboard, joining the ranks of legendary players like Reggie Jackson and Babe Ruth. His ability to hit for power in the playoffs has cemented his place as one of the most feared hitters in the game.

Stanton’s production has been a crucial factor in the Yankees’ success in 2024. If he continues to deliver at the plate, the Yankees are well-positioned to secure their first World Series title since 2009. With every swing, Stanton adds to his postseason resume, and his Game 4 home run against Cleveland is just the latest example of his impact on the team.

As the Yankees look to close out the ALCS, Stanton’s hot streak shows no signs of slowing down.
