The Yankees had a front-row seat to Juan Soto’s dominance last season. You’d think that would give them an edge in figuring out how to get him out. Carlos Rodon isn’t so sure.
“I don’t know, he kind of hits everything,” Carlos Rodon said with a grin on Tuesday, per SNY. “He’s a tough out. So it will be fun. It will be a fun matchup. I’ve faced him before, and I don’t remember what happened. I think he hit the ball hard somewhere.
The Yankees’ Carlos Rodon’s view of Soto

The Yankees won’t have to deal with Soto every day anymore, but he didn’t go far. The Mets made the biggest splash of the offseason by signing the 25-year-old slugger to a record-setting 15-year, $765 million contract—the largest in sports history.
Carlos Rodon, like most Yankees, had hoped Soto would stay in the Bronx.
“I’m happy for Juan. Juan was a good friend and was a great teammate. He’s a class act and he’s a great Yankee, too,” he said. “Would I have liked him to stay here with us? Yeah. Selfishly, yeah, for sure. But I’m happy for Juan… and hopefully, it all works out for him, and he performs well. I’m a Juan Soto fan until he steps in the box against our team.”

That moment comes on May 16, when the Yankees and Mets meet for the first time this season.
