The Giants are hoping that Stephen Curry, a former NBA Most Valuable Player from the Bay Area, can help them sign free agent Aaron Judge. They have put the AL MVP in touch with the Golden State Warriors superstar when Judge went to San Francisco this week to meet with the Giants.

Aaron Judge has been a fan of the Giants since he was a kid and they are expected to be the Yankees’ biggest competition to keep Judge in pinstripes. Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area says that the Giants put Judge in touch with Stephen Curry’s camp because they wanted the two superstars to get to know each other. Curry has won four championships with the Warriors. He has also won two MVP Awards and knows a few things about playing basketball in Northern California.

Curry and Aaron Judge, in an ideal world for the Giants and their fans, would both play in the same San Francisco neighborhood in 2023 and beyond. Pavlovic added a few more details to his report on Wednesday about Judge’s meetings with the Giants. He claimed, “They are said to be pulling out all the stops to make a convincing pitch.”

The reigning Most Valuable Player in the American League started his visit at Oracle Park on Tuesday. According to Pavlovic, he also spent part of Tuesday with members of the Giants. Manager Gabe Kapler, Farhan Zaidi, who is in charge of baseball operations, and Larry Baer, who is the president and CEO of the team, were all there.

Some Giants players, like outfielder Joc Pederson, shared a picture of Judge in a Giants uniform on social media.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network was the first to share a video of Judge arriving in San Francisco. He also said that Judge’s talks with the Giants have gone “all the way up to the ownership level.” Morosi thinks that San Francisco will make a formal offer to Judge by the end of this week or early next week.

Since becoming a free agent, Aaron Judge has only met with one particular team, the Giants. Since the conclusion of the 2022 season, the Yankees have extended an offer to Judge, signaling their intent to keep him. This was always going to be a part of the process, especially when Aaron Judge rejected a $213.5 million contract offer from the Yankees before Opening Day, thereby ending talks until this summer.
