After two games in Houston, the ALCS moved to New York on Saturday. Game 3 took place in Yankee Stadium. Even though the New York crowd heckled the Astros a lot, it looked like there were a lot of Astros fans in the stands to cheer Houston players and keep them motivated.
On Thursday, the Houston Astros took a 2-0 lead over the New York Yankees in the ALCS. Dusty Baker’s team then went on the road to try to get one step closer to the World Series in enemy territory. Houston fans followed them and offered them all-important support that saved them from taunts by Yankees fans.
Many reporters tweeted photos and videos of Astros fans in the Bronx cheering for their team and not being afraid to represent Houston in front of the die-hard crowd supporting the Yankees. They proudly wear their orange colors.

Astros fans who traveled all the way to New York have been rewarded for their loyalty. In Game 3, centerfielder Chas McCormick hit a home run in the second inning, giving Houston a 2-0 lead. In the top of the sixth, Houston added three more runs to its lead. The Astros’ starting pitcher, Cristian Javier, had little trouble with the Yankees’ lineup. In 5 1/3 innings, he struck out five batters and gave up just one hit.
If Houston wins on Sunday night, they will make it to the Fall Classic. The Astros’ current core has been to the World Series before, in 2017, 2019, and 2021. In 2017, they beat the Dodgers to win their first World Series title.
Game 4 of the ALCS will be played at Yankee Stadium at 6:07 p.m. CT on Sunday. If Game 5 is needed, it will be played in New York on Monday.
