NEW YORK — The New York Yankees have announced the launch of the first-ever Pinstripe 5K Run/Walk, giving fans across the country the chance to celebrate their team spirit both at Yankee Stadium and virtually. The inaugural event will take place Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, inside and around the Stadium in the Bronx.
Participants can choose between joining the race in person or signing up for a virtual run, completing five kilometers at their own location while still receiving official race gear and digital access to the experience. The event is open to runners, walkers, and Yankees fans of all ages, with proceeds benefiting the New York Yankees Foundation, which supports youth and community programs throughout the city.
A race through the home of champions
For those joining the event in person, the race route will begin near the Great Hall at Yankee Stadium, wind through nearby Bronx streets, and finish on the field where Yankees legends have made history. Runners will get the rare opportunity to cross the finish line near home plate, making it one of the most unique 5K experiences in professional sports.
YES Network described the event as a “one-of-a-kind chance for Yankees fans to combine fitness and fandom inside one of the most iconic venues in sports.” Each participant will receive a commemorative race shirt, a finisher’s medal, and exclusive photo opportunities inside Yankee Stadium following the race.

“The Pinstripe 5K gives fans the chance to experience Yankee Stadium in a completely new way,” organizers said. “It’s more than a race — it’s a celebration of the Yankees community.”
Virtual race opens access to fans nationwide
For those unable to attend in person, the Yankees have expanded the event to include a virtual option. Fans from anywhere in the United States can register, complete their 5K at their own pace, and still receive the same official shirt, medal, and race materials.
Virtual participants will also get digital access to the Stadium experience, including a video tour of Yankee Stadium, highlights of the event, and interactive fan content shared across the team’s social media channels.
Registration for both formats is now open on Yankees.com/Pinstripe5K, with tiered pricing available until race week. Spaces for the in-person run are limited due to stadium capacity. The Yankees expect strong participation from local fans, running groups, and families who want to be part of the organization’s first race event.
Supporting the Yankees Foundation and Bronx community
A portion of the proceeds from the Pinstripe 5K will benefit the New York Yankees Foundation, which has long supported Bronx-area youth, education, and wellness programs. The foundation partners with several community-based organizations to fund sports and mentoring programs for children and families in need.
Yankees officials said the event reflects the organization’s broader effort to “connect the team’s legacy with community wellness.” The foundation’s ongoing projects include scholarship programs, local food drives, and partnerships with New York City schools.
In a statement, event organizers said, “Every step in the Pinstripe 5K helps the Yankees Foundation continue its mission to give back to the Bronx and the communities that support the team year-round.”
A unique fan experience at Yankee Stadium
Participants will enjoy exclusive access to several areas of the Stadium before and after the run, including the Great Hall, Monument Park, and select concourse sections. Post-race festivities will feature live music, refreshments, and appearances by Yankees alumni and the team mascot.
Runners can also take photos near the team’s 27 World Series championship displays, adding to the atmosphere that connects the Yankees’ past and present. YES Network cameras will capture highlights from the event for broadcast and social media coverage.
Those attending will receive logistical information on parking, security procedures, and check-in locations closer to the date. Organizers recommend participants arrive early, as gates will open several hours before the 9 a.m. start time.

National excitement for Yankees fans everywhere
The announcement has already generated excitement among Yankees fans across the country. Social media posts using the hashtag #Pinstripe5K have surfaced from fans planning to run in their hometowns wearing Yankees gear. The event’s dual format is designed to make the experience accessible to supporters who can’t travel to New York.
For many, the chance to run where their heroes played adds a special emotional connection. The combination of community, charity, and baseball tradition makes the Pinstripe 5K stand out among other MLB team events.
How to register
Fans can register at Yankees.com/Pinstripe5K for both in-person and virtual participation. The registration fee includes the race bib, official Pinstripe5K t-shirt, medal, and other commemorative items. Early registration is encouraged, as the event is expected to sell out quickly.
Participants must complete the 5K distance between Nov. 15 and Nov. 17 for the virtual option to qualify for official timing and digital recognition.
Organizers have also confirmed that the event will take place rain or shine, with updates posted on Yankees.com and YES Network platforms in case of weather-related changes.
What makes this event special
The Pinstripe 5K isn’t just about running. It’s about celebrating the bond between the Yankees and their fans. It brings together thousands of supporters under one theme — loyalty to the pinstripes — while supporting the team’s mission to strengthen local communities.
Whether crossing home plate at Yankee Stadium or running through their own neighborhood, fans will share the same goal: celebrating fitness, community, and the enduring legacy of the Yankees.
