A day after the New York Yankees‘ blowout defeat by 10-2 over the Mets, the did a bit more bullpen shuffling.

Thus, the Bronx Bombers announced that 24-year-old Yoendrys Gomez was heading back to Triple-A after spending 7.2 innings with the Yankees and posting a 5.87 ERA. Elsewhere, Jake Cousins will see more gametime, despite his side’s poor outing this week.

To complicate things further, Gomez is one of the key names in the Yankees’ developing talents. However, his latest struggles saw him miss out on a spot with a team that can still boast to be top of the American League‘s standings.

While Cousins continues to develop, the Yankees remain committed to his growth, emphasizing their dedication to player development even amid challenging times.
