New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. has transformed a simple weather complaint into an unexpected brand partnership from Vaseline products.
The flashy second baseman struggled with New York’s harsh April conditions during a recent home stand at Yankee Stadium. The Bahamas native openly discussed his discomfort with reporters, revealing his creative solution for dealing with the bitter temperatures.
“I’ve been using a lot of Vaseline,” Chisholm revealed to the media, adding a cheeky appeal: “Shout out Vaseline, send me some.”
The skincare company apparently took notice.
Though the 26-year-old remains out of action with an oblique injury and away from team activities, he showcased a special delivery on Instagram last Friday. Customized Vaseline containers arrived featuring his name and initials. The products came decorated with gold lettering and crystal embellishments — a personalized skincare collection befitting his fashion-forward image.
New York Post Yankees beat writer Greg Joyce originally broke the story. Joyce first shared Chisholm’s amusing April remarks on Twitter, then posted photos of the elaborate care package once it arrived.
Chisholm has never shied away from making style statements. From distinctive hairstyles to eye-catching wardrobe choices, he now adds personalized skincare products to his growing off-field brand.

Injury fails to diminish Chisholm’s impact
Despite missing action since early this month, Chisholm’s influence remains strong in the Bronx. Before the injury struck, he was finally showing the consistency that had previously escaped him during his Yankees tenure.
Chisholm compiled impressive numbers through 34 games in 2025. He posted a .276/.338/.466 slash line with six homers, 18 RBIs, and nine stolen bases. His combination of power and speed was translating into reliable production in pinstripes. His defensive work was also helping stabilize the middle infield before the setback occurred.

DJ LeMahieu’s return from his own injury creates roster complications. With LeMahieu regaining his form at second base, Chisholm may face a position change upon his return. Manager Aaron Boone has suggested moving him to third base. This shift became more likely after the team lost Oswaldo Cabrera to a season-ending ankle fracture.
Star quality extends beyond statistics
Chisholm’s Vaseline partnership represents more than just a random social media moment. It highlights his expanding profile in a league that values personality alongside performance. The Yankees have historically succeeded with players who embrace New York’s intense spotlight. The infielder appears perfectly suited for that environment.
His ability to generate attention spans fashion, attitude, and athletic ability. The Yankees may have discovered a unique combination of charisma and talent in their acquisition of Chisholm. Even while injured and away from game action, he continues creating headlines and attracting potential endorsement opportunities.

Whether through style choices, public comments, or on-field performance, Chisholm brings energy to an organization built on tradition. His natural flair for marketing himself could prove valuable for both his personal brand and the Yankees’ broader appeal.
The skincare endorsement saga demonstrates how modern athletes can capitalize on spontaneous moments. Chisholm’s weather complaint became a brand opportunity, showcasing the type of marketable personality that thrives in major markets like New York.
