Beyond the joy of the moment, Cortes and Alondra have a beautiful love story to commemorate. Their romance began on November 24, 2015, and flourished for nearly seven years before Cortes proposed during All-Star week in 2022. Sealing their union in a beautiful ceremony on November 25, 2023, they exchanged vows surrounded by some of Cortes’ Yankees teammates.

As Cortes relishes this time off, he can reflect on both personal triumphs and professional successes. His Major League debut came in 2018 with the Orioles. After a brief stint with the Mariners in 2020, Cortes returned to the Yankees in 2021, where he found his stride. In 2022, his dedication and unique pitching style earned him a well-deserved All-Star selection.
