In the winter meetings of 2019, Gerrit Cole, the reigning 2023 AL Cy Young winner, secured a significant deal with the New York Yankees. Following this, he made a substantial real estate investment by acquiring a lavish mansion in Greenwich, CT, for an impressive $5.55 million in early February of the COVID-affected year.

As the most coveted free agent in the market after the 2019 season, Gerrit Cole signed a lucrative nine-year contract with the Yankees worth $324 million in mid-December. Shortly thereafter, he purchased the mansion, which serves as a cherished off-season residence for him and his family.

Architect Cormac Byrne designed the estate recently acquired by Gerrit Cole in 2016, conveniently located approximately thirty minutes away from Yankee Stadium. The impressive mansion was listed for sale in September 2019, with an asking price of $5.45 million. This three-story, wood-frame Colonial-style residence spans just under 9,000 square feet, featuring five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, all situated on a two-acre property.

The main entrance of Gerrit Cole‘s home is highlighted by a grand staircase that leads to the formal living and dining rooms. PTK Interiors has adorned the light-filled living area with their stylish and modern furnishings.

A spacious center island takes center stage in the gourmet kitchen, which also features a delightful breakfast nook for more casual dining. Adjacent to the kitchen is a comfortable family room with a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere.

The luxurious master bedroom is adorned with two dressing rooms, a fireplace, a sitting area, and elegant marble baths. Moving to the third story, there are four additional bedrooms, each equipped with its own en suite bathroom.

The exterior of the property boasts notable features such as a spacious terrace with an outdoor fireplace, a saltwater-heated pool with a spa, and an outdoor cooking and dining area beneath a covered porch.

Gerrit Cole resides in his hometown of Newport Beach, California, where he owns a five-bedroom house. Despite being a standout pitcher for the Houston Astros in 2019, the team faced defeat in the World Series against the Washington Nationals. The Pittsburgh Pirates were the team where the three-time All-Star commenced his big league career in 2013.

In a Yankees season marked by disappointment, Gerrit Cole distinguished himself as one of the team’s standout performers, consistently providing them with an opportunity to win whenever he stepped onto the mound. He secured his inaugural Cy Young Award in the American League, becoming the first Yankee to achieve this since Roger Clemens in 2001. Cole emerged victorious over fellow AL contenders Kevin Gausman (Blue Jays) and Sonny Gray (Twins), clinching the trophy with a unanimous decision.
