On this Wednesday, New York Yankees’ General Manager, Brian Cashman, revealed that pitcher Domingo German will be sidelined for the rest of the season. Cashman shared that he was only informed about the concerning German situation after the Trade Deadline had already come to a close the previous day.
“I’m not going to go through the details of it. Certainly, it’s a very serious issue that affects way too many people, unfortunately. Hopefully the steps that are being taken today will really benefit him for the remaining part of his life, because it’s a very serious problem that you have to address head on.” Cashman said.
This unfortunate revelation shed light on German’s ongoing battle with alcohol abuse, which he has struggled with in the past. The situation took a distressing turn as an incident unfolded recently, prompting Brian Cashman to make this difficult decision. However, Cashman remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the incident, emphasizing his current concern for German and his immediate family.
The announcement leaves a void in the Yankees’ pitching rotation for the remainder of the season, as German’s absence will undoubtedly impact the team’s performance. While details surrounding the incident remain undisclosed, Cashman’s primary focus appears to be on German’s well-being and the support he requires during this challenging time.
