Two hours ago, Randy Miller provided an update on the weather, saying, “It was pouring in Boston this afternoon, but the rain has stopped for the time being. Perhaps there’s a chance to get in tonight’s Yankees-Red Sox game. Some forecasts show little rain, while others indicate showers from 9 PM through Saturday morning.”

Despite this, the bad weather has still caused a delay in the start of the game.

According to CBS, a line of showers and thunderstorms that reached western Massachusetts was expected around noon on Friday. However, it slowly moved eastward, likely reaching central Massachusetts around 2 PM.

Most of the activity during peak hours—between 4 PM and 7 PM—will be to the north and west of Boston. This is also the period with the highest risk of severe thunderstorms.
