According to a report by Joel Sherman from the NY Post, the New York Yankees are eagerly awaiting the return of their star outfielder, Aaron Judge, who is set to be activated on Friday for their upcoming game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Sources from The New York Post have indicated that Judge’s rehabilitation progress has been promising, making his comeback highly anticipated.

Why would Judge be playing on Friday?

Initially, Judge expressed his eagerness to play in the Subway Series, but the Yankees chose a cautious approach to ensure a complete recovery. The injury that sidelined him occurred on June 3 when he suffered a sprained right big toe after colliding with the wall at Dodger Stadium.

Since Judge’s absence from the lineup, the Yankees have faced difficulties, recording a less-than-impressive 18-23 record without him, and their offensive performance has significantly declined. During the 41 games that Judge spent on the injured list, the Yankees’ offense averaged just 3.9 runs per game, hitting only .220 with a .671 OPS.

The team’s aspirations for the postseason took a hit as they fell out of wild-card contention without the valuable contributions of their star player.

As the reigning AL MVP, Judge’s return is eagerly anticipated and undoubtedly a significant boost for the Yankees, who have sorely missed his powerful presence in the lineup. His comeback is expected to inject new energy into the team and provide them with the much-needed offensive firepower as they head into the crucial stretch of the season.

With Friday approaching, Yankees fans and baseball enthusiasts are filled with excitement, hoping that Aaron Judge’s return will lead the team to a strong finish and bolster their chances of securing a coveted playoff spot.
