Aaron Judge y Giancarlo Stanton nombrados titulares para el All-Star Game de 2022

Judge y Stanton jugarán junto a Mike Trout en el outfield de la Liga Americana en el Dodger Stadium.

Aaron Judge y Giancarlo Stanton representarán a los Yankees a finales de este mes en el Juego de las Estrellas de la MLB 2022 en Los Ángeles, comenzando en el outfield.

Judge ya tenía garantizado un puesto en la alineación titular al ser la mejor elección de la Liga Americana. Mientras tanto, Stanton superó por poco al jardinero de los Blue Jays George Springer en la segunda ronda de votaciones.

Mike Trout, de los Angels, completa el equipo titular de la Liga Americana. Este año será el décimo All-Star para Trout, el cuarto para Judge y el quinto para Stanton.

Major League Baseball reveló los titulares en ambas ligas el viernes por la noche en ESPN durante el “2022 Chevrolet MLB All-Star Star Starters Reveal”.
Mientras que Trout tiene más Clásicos de Verano en su haber este año que cualquier otro titular, Judge sigue haciendo historia con su cuarta ofrenda en las últimas cinco temporadas. El jugador de 30 años es el octavo jugador en la historia del equipo en ganar cuatro votos de los aficionados para el All-Star, uniéndose al miembro del Salón de la Fama Derek Jeter (9), el miembro del Salón de la Fama Dave Winfield (7), Alex Rodríguez (6) , el miembro del Salón de la Fama Wade Boggs (4), Robinson Cano (4), el miembro del Salón de la Fama Rickey Henderson (4) y el miembro del Salón de la Fama Reggie Jackson (4).

Al comenzar el partido del viernes por la noche, Judge lidera la liga con 30 jonrones en la temporada. Es el tercer yanqui que batea 30 jonrones antes del Partido de las Estrellas; sólo Roger Maris (33 en 1961) y Alex Rodríguez (30 en 2007) han logrado esta hazaña.

Esta será la primera aparición de Stanton en un ASG con el uniforme de los Yankees y se unirá a Judge como la primera pareja de jardineros de los Yankees en ganar juntos las salidas votadas por los aficionados desde los miembros del Salón de la Fama Winfield y Henderson en 1988.

Estos dos tampoco serán los únicos Yankees en el Partido de las Estrellas. Los lanzadores y reservas de ambas escuadras se determinan mediante una combinación de elecciones de la “papeleta del jugador” y selecciones de la Oficina del Comisionado. El catcher José Treviño fracasó en la segunda fase de la votación de este año frente al reserva de los Blue Jays Alejandro Kirk, pero podría llegar al equipo como reserva. Los lanzadores Clay Holmes, Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes y otros también se ganaron un viaje a Los Ángeles.
