Aaron Judge continued his remarkable home run streak, delivering in the clutch during the ninth inning. With the Yankees trailing and the game on the line, Judge blasted his 57th home run of the season—a 3-run shot against the Orioles.
The powerful hit landed in the Orioles’ bullpen, flipping the score to 9-7, but despite his efforts, the Yankees still fell short in their comeback attempt, edging the Bronx Bombers closer to a loss rather than victory.
Aaron Judge makes history
This latest home run marks Aaron Judge’s fourth consecutive game with a homer, underscoring his dominance at the plate. His performance on Wednesday also made him the first player since 2009 to surpass 140 RBIs in a single season, joining the ranks of Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard. This achievement builds on the 131 RBIs he amassed during his historic 62-home run season in 2022.
Aaron Judge’s statistics speak volumes about his exceptional season. He currently leads the league in multiple categories, including walks (130), on-base percentage (.459), slugging percentage (.699), OPS+ (222), total bases (383), and bWAR (10.4).
As the Yankees maintain a record of 92-66, they find themselves one win away from clinching the AL East title. They will have another opportunity to secure the division in a matchup against the Orioles on Thursday, featuring a showdown between Gerrit Cole and Corbin Burnes. With Judge’s outstanding performance this season, the Yankees are well-positioned for a strong postseason run.
