Aaron Judge is still the Yankees’ biggest unknown, but they might be getting ready with a Plan B for the event if their superstar decides to play somewhere else. Jon Heyman says that “the Yankees are on the list of teams to visit Brandon Nimmo” and the team is also focused on having Carlos Randon. Both players aged 29 are free agents after leaving the Mets and the Giants respectively.
Yankees are believed on the list of teams to visit on Brandon Nimmo. Fit is somewhat curious though, unless the unthinkable happens and Judge leaves. Giants, Rays, Jays and of course Mets thought involved.

Mets and Yankees are among teams talking to the top two remaining starters; at the moment Mets seem more intrigued by Justin Verlander, Yankees more focused on Carlos Rodon

The Yankees could try to convince Nimmo to play left field in 2023 when Harrison Bader’s great glove will lock down center field. But Nimmo didn’t play left field at all in 2022 and only started three games there in 2021.
Nimmo has even less experience in the right field, so even if Aaron Judge exits, it would be interesting to think about how he would fit. But the Yankees have been known to at least check up on every free agent, so they could just be doing their research on the former Met.
Rodon market heating up with deGrom off board. Both NY teams are interested, SF and LAD possible, and Texas still lurking even after deGrom deal. 8-9 teams. Come a long way in 2 short years.

Heyman says that the Yankees are also interested in Carlos Rodon, who is one of the best aces still available after Jacob deGrom signed with the Rangers for a five-year deal. However, the player is in demand with several teams wanting him. The Yankees may have to outbid the Giants and their cross-town rivals the Mets to land him in Yankee Stadium.
Cab Nimmo be able to replace Aaron Judge in the Yankees’ lineup? Will Rondon pitch the Yankees to success?
