Yankee Stadium may be buzzing with excitement for the new season, but the technology behind the scenes is still warming up. During Friday’s home game against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Yankees’ scoreboard experienced a technical hiccup that quickly gained online fame.

The culprit? A hilarious merging of the images of Yankees sluggers Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge. Apparently, the scoreboard got stuck in a loop, displaying a hybrid image featuring Stanton’s mid-face seamlessly blended with Judge’s top and bottom halves.

This humorous glitch wasn’t lost on baseball personality and devoted Yankees fan Jomboy, who was present at the game. He captured the moment and shared a snapshot of the “Stanton-Judge” creation online.

It’s interesting to note that Stanton and Judge bat consecutively in the Yankees lineup, which might explain how this digital fusion happened.

While the scoreboard may have gotten its players mixed up, the real-life Stanton and Judge haven’t quite found their offensive rhythm yet. Both are hitting below their usual averages, with Judge at .167 and Stanton at a slumping .125.

Fortunately, a slow start for these two hasn’t derailed the Yankees. The team boasts a strong 6-2 record to start the season, allowing some wiggle room for everyone, even the scoreboard operator, to get into their groove.

Thankfully, for the sake of the scoreboard’s circuits, this malfunction wasn’t as severe as the earlier season glitch involving Juan Soto!
