On Saturday night, another piece of inconspicuous news surfaced: Cody Bellingham was once again on the Yankees’ radar. Bellinger’s name has been making rounds in Pinstripes Nation since last year, and amidst all the changes, the Yanks have shown that the situation was more complicated than anticipated.

Rumors circulating since July 2023 always sparked initial excitement but quickly fizzled out, straying far from reality within hours.

Bellinger linked to the Yankees (once more)

Cody Bellinger has been linked once more with a move to the Yankees

Only time will tell if the pinstripes nation will embrace this rumor, but for now, some fans are taking it with a grain of salt. What sets this apart is the plethora of sources confirming Bellinger’s potential move to New York. Mark Feisand of MLB hinted that Brian Cashman has been working tirelessly to bring a new face to the Bronx.

According to Feisand, he’s sparing no effort to sign a new star. He could bring in Bellinger and names like Jordan Montgomery, Jorge Soler, or Matt Chapman, all of whom are still sorting out their situations for 2024 and beyond.

Is Cody Bellinger headed to the Yankees?

The intrigue and speculative rumors surrounding the Yankees finally seem to be falling into place. For instance, Feisand reported in the same article that Blake Snell nearly ruled out the possibility of joining the MLB’s most prosperous club.

However, Feisand, an NL executive who suggested that Snell might align with the Giants, also hinted that the Yankees are the frontrunners to secure Bellinger. Bellinger could potentially play at first base, center field, and DH in 2024 and might even take over at first base in 2025 if New York decides not to exercise Anthony Rizzo’s club option at the end of this season.

“But I think both clubs have money to spend and need to make a splash,” the alleged executive told Feisand. To complicate matters further, another NL executive said he “also believes the Yankees will make another significant move.” Regardless, he didn’t specify whether it would involve Bellinger, Snell, or someone else. “[GM Brian Cashman] has one more trick up his sleeve,” the executive said.

  1. bellinger plays multiple positions and is a perfect hitter for the short right field porch. last season when the cubs played the Yanks he hit an upper decker blast. someone we really need. plus next season he can be the yankees first baseman as Rizzos contract is up. Please sign Bellinger a former NL MVP.

  2. Bellinger, Montgomery and Wandy Peralta signings for the Yanks would all be great moves….and I believe Yanks win it all in 2024 if all of this happens…..

  3. That kind of move doesn’t make sense unless Rizzo is not ok .Stanton has DH blocked. Another outfielder is already too many. Spend money on pitching pitching pitching Montgomery we know he can pitch inNY plus short trip to Boston where wife is going to school! Peralta another reliever never hurts either

  4. I don’t think the Yankees are going anywhere in 2024.
There pitching in late August will be very tired and the bullpen has no track record again . Stanton will weigh heavy in the lineup .but I do think they could make the play offs but not go far. In the fall classic. Cody could help if Yankees sign him.
