Yankees’ three MiLB standouts secure spots on the 2023 All-Stars roster

Three of the Yankees prospects are named into the MiLB Eastern League All-Stars team. They are outfielder Jasson Dominguez and pitching prospects Richard Fitts and Clayton Beeter, all representing the Somerset Patriots, have been recognized on the 2023 All-Stars roster.
Dominguez emerged as the leader in batting average, runs, hits, RBI, and stolen bases for the Patriots. His short stint RHP Fitts achieved a 3.48 ERA this season, tallying 163 strikeouts over the course of 27 starts. Right-handed Beeter displayed an impressive 2.08 ERA in his 12 starts with Somerset this season, recording 76 strikeouts in 60 2/3 innings pitched.
According to a press release by the Somerset Patriots:
“Spending his entire 2023 season with Double-A Somerset, Fitts set or matched his career-high in strikeouts four times this season, culminating with a career-high 11 in his final start of the season on 9/15 at New Hampshire. He finished atop the Eastern League in strikeouts, innings pitched and wins. Fitts also ended the season ranking 2nd in MiLB in IP and 7th in strikeouts.”
Yankees prospects win hearts
Dominguez, recognized as the league’s premier MLB prospect, posted impressive numbers with a batting line of .254/.367/.414. At the time of his promotion from Somerset to Triple-A Scranton on August 22, “The Martian” was among the Eastern League’s leaders in several categories, including runs (1st with 83), walks (1st with 77), hits (2nd with 108), stolen bases (2nd with 37), runs batted in (4th with 66), total bases (4th with 176), and on-base percentage (8th with .367). He spent just nine games at Triple-A before making his MLB debut for the Yankees on September 1.
During August, in his 18 games with Somerset, the Yankees‘ second-ranked prospect posted an outstanding 1.046 OPS, slashing .380/.438/.608 with 14 runs batted in, 17 runs scored, 12 extra-base hits, 9 doubles, and 48 total bases. Furthermore, in the 42 games he played with the team since July 1, Dominguez maintained an impressive .926 OPS, boasting a slash line of .331/.401/.525, along with 29 runs batted in, 32 runs scored, 5 home runs, 1 triple, 12 doubles, 21 walks, and 19 stolen bases.
Beeter earned the title of Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for June 6-11, during which he secured victories in both the Patriots’ first and last games of their road trip in Hartford. Throughout the series, he delivered an exceptional performance, pitching a combined 11 scoreless innings with 17 strikeouts, ultimately earning his first-ever Pitcher of the Week accolades.
Beeter represented the Yankees in the 2023 MLB All-Star Futures Game on July 8, contributing 0.2 scoreless innings and a strikeout at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, WA.
