Under the cloak of night, a rumor concerning Noah Syndergaard stirred the ire of numerous Yankees fans, igniting their anger.

The question looms: Can Noah Syndergaard defy the suggestions of the Dodgers’ pitching lab and elevate his game? Only time holds the answer — if it does, it promises to resonate loudly, making its verdict known to all.

Why has Syndergaard’s name been causing a stir among the Yankees fans?

Syndergaard, plucked by the Dodgers in the previous offseason following a lackluster performance split between Anaheim and the World Series runner-up Philadelphia Phillies, left midseason in exchange for Amed Rosario, departing with lingering resentment over LA’s adjustments to his game.

As February approaches, he finds himself unattached but in good company as others navigate the offseason.

This phase finds him immersed in workouts, with MLB insider Jon Heyman reporting on Tuesday that 15 teams observed a recent bullpen session, impressed by Syndergaard’s velocity, with the New York Yankees notably among them.

Yankees are among about 15 teams that have gone to watch one of Noah Syndergaard’s pen sessions. Their interest level is unknown but he was said to be in the mid 90’s.

Noah Syndergaard has faced adversity in recent seasons, battling injuries that have sidelined the once-promising pitcher. Despite these challenges, Syndergaard remains resolute in his quest to resurrect his MLB career and chase a coveted World Series title. His recent bullpen showcases, attended by representatives from various MLB teams, underscore his determination to contribute significantly in the upcoming season.

Yankees fans react to report of Noah Syndergaard’s bullpen sessions

At 31, Syndergaard should be in his prime, yet injuries have hindered his availability and performance. Nonetheless, given his past achievements in the majors, it’s plausible that teams would consider him for a one-year deal at an affordable rate.

The New York Yankees were among the teams present at one of Syndergaard’s bullpen sessions. The Yankees, eager to fortify their pitching staff, saw Syndergaard as a prospective addition.

However, the response from Yankees fans was less than enthusiastic. Many took to social media to voice their disapproval of the idea of signing Syndergaard. From polite “no thank you” messages to more assertive declarations urging the team to explore other options, fans made it clear that Syndergaard wasn’t their preferred choice.

The outspoken nature of Yankees fans was evident as they adamantly expressed their opposition to the potential acquisition. Some likened the idea to bargain shopping at a dollar store, suggesting that Syndergaard didn’t meet the caliber they expected for the team.

The disappointment among fans was exacerbated by the Yankees’ struggles to secure key targets during the offseason, including Hector Neris, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Josh Hader. The mere consideration of Syndergaard further dampened their spirits, highlighting the gap between fan expectations and the team’s pursuits.

Syndergaard’s recent performance also failed to inspire confidence. His underwhelming record with the Cleveland Guardians and Los Angeles Dodgers in the previous season—marked by a 2-6 record, a 6.50 ERA, a 1.387 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts over 88.2 innings—underscored doubts about his ability to make a meaningful impact.

In conclusion, the news of the Yankees’ interest in Noah Syndergaard elicited a mixed response from fans, with many expressing reservations about his suitability for the team. As the offseason unfolds, the Yankees face the challenge of addressing their pitching needs while navigating the expectations of their passionate fanbase.
