New York Yankees 10-1 Baltimore Orioles

Aaron Judge’s record-setting 58th home run powered the Yankees to a commanding 10-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles, securing their second AL East title in three seasons. Judge’s home run, part of a five-game streak, underscored his season-long dominance and incredible power at the plate, further cementing his MVP-caliber campaign.

Yankees Dominate Orioles in Series Finale

Giancarlo Stanton‘s powerful display, featuring his 27th home run and four RBIs, led the Yankees to a commanding win over the Baltimore Orioles. Alongside Stanton’s heroics, Aaron Judge and Stanton hit their 14th home run in the same game this season, tying a legendary record set by Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris in 1961. This offensive firepower emphasized the Yankees’ strength as they gear up for the postseason.

Gerrit Cole outdueled Corbin Burnes, further solidifying the Yankees’ dominance. With the win, the Yankees clinched a first-round bye and home-field advantage for the upcoming AL Division Series starting October 5. Stanton’s early home run in the second inning set the tone, and his three-run double in the sixth put the game out of reach.

While the Orioles have already secured a postseason spot, they will now head to the best-of-three Wild Card Series. The Yankees, meanwhile, are in prime position for another deep postseason run.

Judge Continues Dominance

Aaron Judge‘s two-run homer in the seventh inning off Bryan Baker further widened the Yankees’ lead, reinforcing his status as the major league RBI leader with 144. This blast allowed Judge to surpass Ryan Howard’s 2008 record while extending his own streak to five consecutive games with a home run, underlining his remarkable offensive consistency.

On the mound, Gerrit Cole was equally dominant, silencing the Orioles’ bats with 6 2/3 innings of two-hit ball. Cole’s control was exceptional, as he allowed just one walk and lowered his ERA to 3.41. His mastery was on full display when he fanned Anthony Santander with a 98.1 mph fastball, despite a controversial call by the umpire. The crowd of 42,022 at Yankee Stadium gave Cole a well-deserved standing ovation as he left the game in the seventh inning.

Orioles pitcher Corbin Burnes delivered a solid performance despite the loss, allowing two hits and a walk over five innings while recording nine strikeouts, including eight on cutters. His 1.20 ERA in September suggests he could be Baltimore’s ace in the postseason opener. Still, it was the Yankees’ night, as Judge and Cole delivered key moments that sealed another victory.

Yankees’ Offensive Surge Secures Victory

Giancarlo Stanton’s mighty swing powered the Yankees to a victory over the Orioles. Stanton took advantage of a hanging slider, sending it into the left field seats for a key home run that extended New York’s lead and highlighted his offensive firepower.

Austin Wells also played a pivotal role, drawing a bases-loaded walk to push across a run. Stanton followed with an RBI double, further cementing the Yankees’ control of the game.

In the ninth inning, Anthony Rizzo provided additional breathing room with a two-run single, giving the Yankees a comfortable cushion. While the Orioles did plate a run in the final frame thanks to Emmanuel Rivera’s sacrifice fly, it wasn’t enough to challenge the Yankees’ lead. The win was marked by timely hitting and solid contributions from key players, securing another important victory for New York.
