The New York Yankees head to the Trop for a key series against the Rays. Fans expect the Yankees vs Rays series to turn into a duel for supremacy over the mound between Domingo German and Jeffrey Springs.

Saturday Yankees vs Rays: Clarke Schmidt vs. TBD (6:10 PM ET)
Schmidt joined the Yankees’ rotation officially last Sunday due to pitching injuries. In 4.1 innings against Oakland, he allowed four runs. Schmidt struck out seven but had trouble putting away batters, throwing 83 pitches.
Sunday Yankees vs Rays: Frankie Montas vs. TBD (1:40 PM ET)
Montas was one of two Yankees to hit Shohei Ohtani in the recent Angels’ series, allowing a home run in an otherwise good outing. Montas’ home run led to a six-inning, four-run performance.
In their previous ten games, the Yankees went 6-4, had a batting average of .226, an earned run average of 2.66, and scored 13 more runs than their opponents.
