Angels Host Yankees on Home Losing Streak

On Monday at 9:38 PM ET, the New York Yankees (78-50) will visit the Los Angeles Angels (55-73). This will be the first game of a new series.

The Yankees are favored to win on the road against the Angels. The Yankees will give the ball to Frankie Montas, who is looking for his fifth win of the season. The Angels will give the ball to Jose Suarez, who is looking for his fifth win of the season.

New York has a road record of 33-30 and a total record of 78-50. The Yankees have hit 200 home runs, which is more than any other AL team.

On Monday, these two teams will play each other for the fourth time this season.

Frankie Montas vs. Jose Suarez, Monday at 9:38 p.m. Eastern

Montas (4-10) will make his 24th start for the Yankees this season. The right-hander last appeared on Tuesday, when he pitched 5 2/3 innings against the New York Mets, allowing two earned runs and six hits. Montás has pitched five innings or more in three consecutive games and will look to extend that streak.

Jameson Taillon vs. Patrick Sandoval, Tuesday at 9:38pm Eastern

Taillon is becoming the definition of an average pitcher. His 4.55 August ERA is inflated by one bad start against Seattle; his other four starts have been average.

Gerrit Cole vs. Mike Mayers, Wednesday at 9:38pm Eastern

The Yankees’ best pitcher had a rough start against the Blue Jays a few weeks ago, but since then he has been on a roll. In his last four starts, he has only given up six runs and has struck out 30 batters in 24.1 innings. He has the most strikeouts in MLB and can keep chasing Gator if he has a big finish.

Andrew Benintendi is 12th on the Yankees with a batting average of .302 and 22 doubles, 3 triples, and 4 home runs. In the last 10 games, Oswaldo Cabrera has hit 11-for-38 and driven in two runs.

INJURIES: Luis Gil, Aroldis Chapman, Harrison Bader, Nestor Cortes, Scott Effross, Albert Abreu, Clay Holmes, Matt Carpenter, Luis Severino, Miguel Castro, Michael King, Chad Green, Stephen Ridings, and Zack Britton.
