Aaron Judge hits his 37th home run as they beat the Orioles

The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles 6-0 on Sunday, with Aaron Judge hitting his major league-leading 37th home run and fellow All-Star Nestor Cortes pitching six strong innings.

Another Yankees All-Star, Jose Trevino, had his first four-hit game. New York, which has the best record in the majors, won two of three games and has won 22 of 32 series this season.

Judge leads the majors with 81 RBI and has seven home runs in his last nine games. He also improved his batting average to .294, which has been a major focus.

Cortes (8-3) struck out seven batters and walked none, lowering his ERA from 2.63 to 2.48. The 27-year-old lefty debuted with the Orioles in 2018.

Clarke Schmidt earned his first career save after pitching three innings.

In the third inning, New York scored three runs on a double by DJ LeMahieu and a two-run drive by Judge off Dean Kremer (3-2). Judge has nine home runs in his last 12 games against Baltimore and 36 in his career, the most of any opponent.

The Yankees lead with 166 home runs, the most in franchise history through the first 96 games of a season.

With an RBI single, Isiah Kiner-Falefa extended his hitting streak to 12 games, and Trevino followed with a double that increased the lead to 5-0 in the sixth. Aaron Hicks’ ninth-inning single drove in the sixth run.
