As spring training looms, the anticipation for free agents’ decisions intensifies. Could the Yankees bolster their rotation with another ace? Blake Snell remains unsigned, and according to The Athletic’s Jim Bowden, New York stands as the frontrunner to secure the services of the two-time Cy Young winner.
“I think the Yankees ultimately land him — especially after the Orioles traded for Corbin Burnes, removing him as an option — unless they’re able to make a trade with the White Sox for Dylan Cease instead,” Bowden suggests.
Blake Snell has drawn interest from the Angels, Giants, Red Sox, Cubs, Phillies, and Mariners, but a union with the Yankees appears uncertain. Despite New York’s earlier offer of a six-year, $150 million deal, Blake Snell, represented by Scott Boras, sought more. Last month, a source indicated to NJ Advance Media’s Bob Klapisch that “(Hal) Steinbrenner has moved on (from Snell).”

I have been pretty clear. I want no part of Snell. That being said, if he gets a 1 or 2 year deal, I’ll swallow it, but he really does rely on stranding runners.
