New York Yankees 3, Baltimore Orioles 9

BALTIMORE — Adam Frazier made his mark with a three-run homer during a seven-run first inning for Baltimore, propelling the Orioles to a convincing 9-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Sunday night.

In an unparalleled display of dominance, the Orioles quickly surged to a 6-0 lead even before recording an out against Luis Severino (2-5). This remarkable performance led them to clinch two out of three games in the weekend series. With this crucial victory, Baltimore maintained their position 1 1/2 games ahead of Tampa Bay, firmly seated atop the AL East standings. Meanwhile, the Yankees missed a valuable opportunity to close the gap on the last playoff spots in the American League, finding themselves 3 1/2 games behind Houston and Toronto.

Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson led off the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back singles, showcasing their unique ability. Anthony Santander added to the momentum by driving in a run with an impressive RBI double. Not to be outdone, Ryan O’Hearn stepped up and hammered a double of his own, bringing two more runs across the plate.

In a remarkable sequence, Austin Hays drew a walk, setting the stage for Frazier’s phenomenal shot to right field, extending the Orioles’ lead by an astonishing six runs within the span of six batters. Adley Rutschman then contributed with an RBI single, further solidifying the team’s dominance as they surged ahead to a 7-0 advantage.

Following that, Severino displayed his uniqueness on the mound, delivering a couple of scoreless innings for the Yankees. However, his time came to an end in the fourth inning after Henderson’s impactful run-scoring double and O’Hearn’s clutch RBI single expanded the lead to an impressive 9-2, prompting the Yankees to make a pitching change.

Severino’s performance took an unfortunate turn, conceding an alarming nine runs and 10 hits in a mere 3 1/3 innings, causing his ERA to skyrocket to 7.49.

On the other side, Orioles’ starter Dean Kremer faced challenges as well and failed to complete five innings, leading to Mike Baumann (8-0) being granted the victory in the end. Despite Baltimore’s impressive start, Kremer showed resilience in the second inning, retiring Kyle Higashioka with a crucial bases-loaded grounder, securing the third out and preventing further damage.

In a distinct display of power, Jake Bauers kicked off the third inning for New York with an impressive home run, and he didn’t stop there, following it up with an RBI double in the fourth, showcasing his unique hitting prowess. Not to be outdone, Harrison Bader added to the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly in the fifth, solidifying the lead at 9-3.

Adley Rutschman, on the other hand, put on a remarkable show, collecting three hits and a walk, highlighting his extraordinary talent and ability to make a significant impact on the game.

However, in a contrasting performance, Anthony Rizzo faced a challenging time at the plate, striking out five times for New York, reflecting the game’s unique ebb and flow.

Yankees management seems content with letting the 2023 season slip by with a whimper, instead of a bang (or even a small “pop”).
Sit Judge down and send out a lineup which would have trouble beating an average American Legion team. Severino throws batting practice to the Orioles, and this game was over before Severino recorded his first out in the bottom of the first inning. And Aaron Judge seemed to accept this as if the Yankees led the AL East by 12 games.
The front office seems completely unwilling to add better bats to the lineup before Tuesday’s trade deadline, and are satisfied with the starting rotation as well. No reason to worry. It’s only the beginning of August, right Hal?
I ask every Yankee fan to stay home, cancel YES, cancel Prime, Peacock, Apple and every other money making scheme Hal has added to pad his bottom line (which is already reported to be over $500 million per year), and send a message to Yankees’ management.
Oh, AND FIRE CASHMAN, the grand architect of this embarrassing dumpster fire. Throw away $280 million on a bunch or old, immobile, egocentric mongrels and get rewarded with a 4 year contract extension.
It sure must be nice to work in the rarefied air of Yankees’ management. 🙄

That should read, “And Aaron Boone seemed to accept this…..”.
Judge didn’t have anything to do with this debacle.
