Reports that the Giants would sign Aaron Judge whatever it took were called “crazy” and “ridiculous” by someone who works for the team. Does this mean their interest in Aaron Judge is running out of steam?
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, “a Giants person called “crazy” and “ridiculous” reports saying they’d pay Judge whatever it took.”
This adds more to the uncertainty over Aaron Judge and the outfielder continues to keep his cards close to his chest. But with San Francisco Giants are pushing back on the idea that they will do everything they can to sign Aaron Judge, the Yankees fans can have a sigh of relief.
Though the Giants stay in the race to sign to the outfielder, the latest news shows they are no more an overenthusiastic bidder but will follow a cautious approach. Also, Judge may not find their San Francisco ballpark friendly to hit swing.
Many rival executives also think that the AL home-run record holder will stay with the Yankees. One of them told that the New York team won’t let themselves screwed up by losing Aaron Judge.
Judge turned down a seven-year, $213.5 million deal before the season started. After the World Series, he will be a free agent.
The 30-year-old just finished his best season in a long time. He hit 62 home runs and set a new record for the American League. He was also in the running for the Triple Crown, which makes him the favorite for AL MVP.
Will Aaron Judge prefer the Giants over the Yankees?
