The Yankees and the Twins played a game of baseball, which went about how you would expect.

I didn’t have high hopes for the Twins’ chances in this game and of course I’m not alone. Aaron Judge quickly confirmed that sentiment by hitting a 2-run blast in the first inning, 7 pitches into the game. Two batters later, Giancarlo Stanton hit a solo home run to left midfield for 3-0.

The Twins hit back and scored Byron Buxton on a sacrificial fly driven by Max Kepler at the bottom of 1st. In the 3rd minute, Luiz Arraez scored thanks to a brace from Jorge Polanco.

The Yankees didn’t let up, however, when Judge hit an RBI single in the fourth. Jermaine Palacios caught up that run with an RBI sacrifice fly and scored on Gio Urshela.
At the top of 5th place Juan Minaya replaced Cole Sands but eventually walked and ran inside. Yennier Cano came in and punched Judge to end the threat.

Once again, the Twins responded with a run of their own, this time to Jorge Polanco’s seventh home run that gave the game a 5-4 lead.

Tyler Duffey came on in seventh and quickly got 2 outs before D.J. LaMahieu got a single. The judge was then hit on foot on purpose, but Anthony Rizzo hit a 3-run bomb down right center, essentially ending the game.
Rocco Baldelli was ejected in the 7th after a dispute with the referee. A ball that clearly failed to hit Kepler’s racquet was called a foul ball, the umpires formed a group and decided the call would stand, so the ejection.

The Yankees scored a few more runs in the eighth inning, but it didn’t need to, they weren’t even sure why they bothered.

The Twins’ sluggers couldn’t do anything after the fifth inning, leaving us 10-4.

The Twims did not wim. Thanks for hanging out, everybody!
