In New York Yankees world, Aaron Judge is the star player. However, in his absence, the unit often struggles to muster even a couple of runs in a game. Losing a star player inevitably takes its toll on any team. However, what if there’s another force, an underappreciated player who significantly boosts quality? Enter outfielder Harrison Bader.
Harrison Bader has faced his share of setbacks, enduring two stints on the injured list for different ailments. And just as the Yankees falter without Judge, their performance also takes a hit when their center fielder, Bader, is absent. Yankees insider Bryan Hoch recently shed light on a lesser-known statistic on Bader’s impact.
“We often discuss the Yankees’ record without Aaron Judge. But this weekend, let’s consider a different stat: The Yanks boast a 24-9 record this season when Harrison Bader plays.”
Harrison Bader’s stellar performance enhances the Yankees’ winning formula
Statistically, that impressive 24-9 record speaks volumes about Harrison Bader’s influence on the team’s performance. While he may not be an offensive superstar, Bader brings an above-average bat, power, and speed to the Yankees’ lineup. As of Friday afternoon, Harrison Bader holds an impressive .268/.295/.480 batting line in 129 plate appearances. In addition to his solid performance at the plate, he has launched six home runs, crossed the plate 19 times, driven in 22 RBIs, and swiped seven bases.
Harrison Bader’s impact goes beyond his offensive contributions. His presence in the outfield provides the pitching staff with an elite center fielder who plays a pivotal role in keeping their earned run average (ERA) low. Bader adds confidence to the Yankees’ pitching arsenal with his agility and skill.
While Harrison Bader’s on-base ability might be his minor shortcoming as a player, the Yankees gladly embrace the comprehensive package he offers. As long as he graces the field, the team undoubtedly becomes stronger and more formidable, consistently charting a course toward success. The Yankees have found a winning formula with Bader, leveraging his stellar performance to propel them to victory.

He just needs to stay healthy .
Outstanding player when healthy
IKF is beginning to show some of the same capabilities. Not there yet, but his BA is creeping up (with some pop) and his steal of home was exactly the type of opportunism this team needs more of.
This guy is a firecracker and I wouldn’t want to bet on the Yankees if he isn’t in the lineup!
