If you are a Yankees fan, you must be serious and can’t afford to go back on your word. Gleyber Torres made a fan realize this.
Jakob, a vocal supporter of the New York Yankees, challenged Gleyber Torres and learned the hard way not to make claims he can’t back. On his Twitter, he made the bet before Thursday’s Yankees game against the Texas Rangers that he would have a bowl haircut if star second baseman Gleyber Torres hit a home run for the Yankees.
Gleyber Torres took the bet
It was Gleyber Torres’ first at-bat of the game, and he did it.
To Jakob’s online message later that evening, Gleyber Torres responded, “Make sure you do it, you have to keep promises.”
The official Yankees Twitter account then chimed in, asking to see a photo of the fan in question’s new hairstyle.
It is up to Jakob
Some of Jakob’s recent social media posts indicate that he intends to keep his word, even though he hasn’t responded to Gleyber Torres’ or the Yankee’s request to share a shot of himself with his new bowl cut.
With Thursday’s 4-2 victory, the Yankees improved to 15-11 on the season and fourth place in the American League East.
