Yankees manager Aaron Boone expressed his enthusiasm for Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s contributions to the team, praising the impact the 26-year-old infielder has had since joining the roster.
“He has impacted us in every way—with the bat, with the glove, and on the basepaths,” Boone said. “He brings energy to the ballpark every day. I feel like he’s fit in well, and I’m excited we got him. He’s a well-rounded player who’s added a different dynamic.”
But has Chisholm really made that impact?
Since being acquired from the Miami Marlins on July 27 in exchange for three Minor League players, Jazz Chisholm has quickly made his presence felt. His addition has bolstered the Yankees’ push for a division title, delivering both offensively and defensively. In 168 at-bats, Chisholm has hit 10 home runs and stolen 16 bases, while adjusting to playing third base for the first time in his career.
By the Numbers
With Jazz Chisholm in the lineup, the Yankees have gone 26-18. His performance at the plate, combined with his speed on the basepaths, has helped solidify his role on the team during a crucial stretch of the season. Beyond his numbers, Chisholm’s energy has helped to invigorate a Yankees clubhouse already fueled by stars such as Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole.
As the Yankees prepare for the postseason, Jazz Chisholm’s continued contributions could be vital to their World Series aspirations. His ability to impact the game in multiple ways has made him a key asset, both on and off the field.
Reflecting on his time with the team, Jazz Chisholm described the experience as fulfilling a childhood dream. “I’ve been a Yankee for two months, and I’m living the dream any Bahamian kid would have. Growing up, the Yankees were the only team on TV in the Bahamas,” he said.
Jazz Chisholm expressed confidence in the team’s chances heading into the playoffs. “We have the best player in baseball [Aaron Judge], one of the top five pitchers [Gerrit Cole], and three of the top 10 players, including Juan Soto. I believe we can win the World Series,” he said.
As the Yankees gear up for their postseason run, Jazz Chisholm is ready to continue contributing to the team’s success. His presence has not only strengthened the Yankees’ lineup but also reinforced the team’s belief in its championship potential.

Acquiring Chisholm, at what should turn out to be a very high price, ended up being very good for the Yankees, just by the fact it put a shell of himself, DJ LeMahieu firmly on the bench and they refused to play Cabrera once DJ was healthy. He’s brought speed, and enthusiasm, and a willing attitude to do whatever. OK, it wasn’t 2B, but he was so happy to be an infielder again. Now, would he be willing to stay at 3B, even if only for a kid to take over at 2B, when Torres leaves as a free-agent.
